Resolution Tips to Organize Your Apartment

resolutionThe dawn of a new year means that it’s time for a New Year’s resolution. From losing weight to eating healthier, there are plenty of popular resolutions that might be on your mind. One resolution that’s easy to forget comes down to organizing your home. If you want a more organized home in 2018, here are a few helpful resolution tips.

Tackle “Problem Areas” First

So there’s always a pile of shoes in front of the door. Or maybe there’s that one drawer that holds all of the junk mail. Every home has one. You can take the first steps to a more organized home by tackling these areas first. The important thing to remember, however, is to focus on one “problem area” at a time. Maybe you only have time to do one bookshelf. That’s okay! Keep it manageable by focusing on one part of your home.

Get Rid and Donate

One of the best ways to declutter is to start getting rid of things you no longer need. Donate clothes you no longer wear. Check the expiration dates in the fridge and trash food items that are no good. You can get closer to a cleaner home when you start focusing on the essentials.

Materials Needed:

  • Seashells
  • Variety of paint
  • Googly Eyes
  • Hot Glue
  • Paint Brush

How to:

This project is pretty simple. It starts with collecting your seashells at the beach. If you’re not by the beach, Michaels or Joannes Craft Store has seashells, or you can always order them online. You’ll have to purchase googly eyes because you are not going to find those at the beach. After you’ve done that, grab some newspaper and lay it out and get ready to paint. Paint all your seashells. You can either use the same color or multiple colors to give it that variety. Let your seashells dry and once they have dried, glue on your googly eyes. Voila! Your seashells have just turned into charming decor pieces for you and your home!
